In Your Face, Cosmetic Surgery!
In a society where looks matter, people have begun putting their money and their faith in cosmetic enhancements.
Within the last 10 years, statistics for facial cosmetic surgeries and non-surgeries have soared. One of the main culprits can be traced to the indirect advertising of the importance of youth, and of certain facial features.
Television, magazines, and even casual conversations we have with our friends, family and acquaintances attribute to the pressure we feel in looking a certain way. Interestingly, cosmetic surgeries have been around for centuries. One of the first countries documented to report happenings of surgery was India around 600 B.C, when a primitive form of rhinoplasty was introduced to local women. Also, an elusive form of Botox was offered as well.
Facial procedures are very common in American women. If you are a fan of reality TV series, cosmetic procedures are literally plastered all over the faces of some of these women. Interestingly, many of the popular shows take place in Orange County, or Silicon Valley, thereby indirectly advocating the commonality and safety of facial procedures.
Cosmetic surgeries and non-surgeries have come a long way since 600 B.C. Now, there are talented surgeons all over the country who specialize in these procedures.
Obviously, cosmetic enhancements are not going anywhere anytime soon. As a matter of fact, the percentage of procedures done annually is expected to rise nearly 13% by the year 2015. Unlike in years past, these procedures are opening up to people of all ages, all economic levels and both sexes. It is quite fascinating to see how our mindset towards these surgeries has changed since the 80s, when surgery was still considered somewhat of a taboo.
Now, it is 2009, and these cosmetic procedures are booming. It is unclear on how the shift from the 80s and the 90s made such a sharp turn towards advocating these happenings, but it happened and now it is in our face.
There is a crucial aspect of undergoing a cosmetic enhancement that must not be overlooked. Although these practices are extremely common nowadays, including some non-surgical procedures that can be done on your lunch break during work, you must take the time doing your research to find a reputable doctor.
Did you know an estimated 48% of people have reported medical error on behalf of their doctor? That means 1 in 2 people have suffered through a medical mistake. There is not much that is worse than a medical error showing up on your face.
It is highly important to do your research when you are considering facial surgery. Choose a doctor you can trust. For more information on facial enhancements, please visit http://www.dr-apo.com
